Sarajevo Photography Festival
Sarajevo Photography Festival (SPF) is an annual month-long international event celebrating photography in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bringing together both emerging and established photographers, the festival serves as a platform for artistic exchange, cultural dialogue, and social engagement.
The opening week of the 2026 edition will take place from June 1 to June 7, featuring a program of exhibitions, workshops, lectures, panel discussions, portfolio reviews, and networking events. Exhibitions will remain up throughout the month of June. With a strong focus on socially relevant themes, SPF provides a space for diverse voices and narratives, addressing topics such as human rights, identity, and cultural heritage. The festival has received submissions from over 60 countries and become one of the largest networking events for photographers in the region since its inception in 2022.
About the prize
Each year, the top 3 winners in each of the 8 competition categories are awarded for their outstanding work. Additionally, the jury may grant honorable mentions to exceptional entries. The festival’s Grand Prix prize is 2,000 EUR (cash), while all first-place winners receive an award sponsored by Canon and a festival statue. The total value of prizes given is 7,000 EUR.
