Turn your project into a photobook | Join our creative workshop by MISC Athens
There’s something quietly radical about transforming a photographic body of work into a book.
In a world saturated with instant images and fleeting stories, the photobook stands as a quiet act of resistance: an invitation to linger, to engage deeply, and to honor the enduring power of storytelling through sequence and form. It demands intention. It asks us not only what we see, but how we see.
Sylvia Sachini is a curator, publisher, and educator based in Athens. She founded MISC and co-founded Void, (2016-2021) and now curates exhibitions and educational programs at the Athens Photo Festival. Her work explores the intersections of photography, print culture, materiality, and storytelling. Also, she leads workshops on developing photographic narratives in book form, emphasizing experimental approaches to editing, sequencing, and materiality.
Clémence Malleret is a visual artist based in Athens, studied at the fine arts schools in Milan and Athens. Her practice blends photography with experimental writing and collective ways of working through workshop methods. Since joining MISC in 2024, she’s coordinated its book publishing production.
Participants will move through the full arc of photobook-making, from the initial concept to editing, sequencing, design, and production. With deep attention to both the emotional weight and structural clarity of a book, this workshop equips photographers with both the critical perspective and practical tools needed to shape a compelling publication.
This workshop is for photographers with completed or near-completed projects who want to give their work a new home, in book form. It’s a space for thought, dialogue, experiment, and precision. It’s a space for your work to breathe, to evolve, and ultimately, to find form.
