Workshop Recap: Fine Art Print in Practice With Srećko Hrkač – The Moment an Image Leaves the Screen
Over the course of the workshop, participants stepped directly into the world of fine art printing — where images finally move from digital files into physical presence. Working hands-on with Canon professional printers, they explored the full process from file preparation to final output, discovering how technical precision and artistic intention meet in the print studio. What quickly became clear is that printing is not a final step, but a defining moment where an image gains weight, texture, and meaning.
A huge part of the experience was understanding how paper choice, colour management, and print quality completely reshape an image — sometimes subtly, sometimes radically — influencing how it is read and felt in space. Working closely with Srećko Hrkač and the BlackBOX team, participants experienced what it means to learn from true specialists in the field. BlackBOX, one of the few dedicated fine art print studios in the region, brought an exceptional level of expertise, care, and precision — turning every file into a carefully considered physical object. Huge thanks to Srećko and the BlackBOX team for their generosity, patience, and craft; it is rare to find a space where printing is treated with this level of seriousness and love.
